Kickstarter Project o’ the Day: American Dark Age
Megabrain Comics, including artist Jacqueline Taylor, need help meeting their goal of $2500 to print issue 2 of the series American Dark Age. Issue 1 is available to read for free on Graphicly! But what’s it about?
AMERICAN DARK AGE is the first act in our neo-medieval series…
The story is set in a near future when a mysterious event renders all combustion based machinery, weapons and electrical technology impotent and useless. It is told through the eyes of Katherine Brody, a young punk singer from Oregon and her rise as an unlikely warrior in a world that no longer recognizes itself.
AMERICAN DARK AGE thrusts the reader in to this archaic landscape and asks not only who you were before “The Blackout” but who will you be after, with so much righteous destiny and sinister opportunity laid before you to be picked at with the tip of a sword.
Brody’s journeys take her and a small band of Marine Corps “Knights” from the bloody shores of California across the now harsh and lawless landscape of the United States to an end that will change the face of a nation forever.
Filled with political intrigue, character drama and ultra-violent, sword clashing battle scenes, AMERICAN DARK AGE takes a new look at the American spirit and what people can achieve or destroy when they set their mind to it.
Act I will be told in 20 issues, which will be followed in 40 issues by Acts II & III of the series. The entire series in all three acts will consist of 60 issues from beginning to end. Sounds like a solid Vertigo-esque series! But they need help raising $1500 in the next 15 days— If American Dark Age looks like a project you’d like to see more of, do your best and back them up!

This looks kind of rad.
